HUDSON, Ohio – Wade Miquelon has been named president, chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors for JoAnn Stores after serving in the fabric and craft company’s top job in an interim capacity since October.

JoAnn made the leadership announcement in a news release Tuesday. Miquelon was appointed interim president/CEO in October when Jill Soltau departed the job to lead J.C. Penney Co.

It will be a privilege to lead this iconic company, and I deeply appreciate the support of the board and our team members across the nation,” Miquelon said.

Miquelon, previously executive vice president, chief financial officer and president of international at The Walgreen Co., joined JoAnn as executive vice president and CFO in March 2016. He previously worked in executive roles at Tyson Foods, Inc. and The Procter & Gamble Co.

“In his nearly three years with JoAnn, we have seen Wade drive incredible positive change and business results,” John Yoon, principal at private equity investment firm Leonard Green & Partners, said in a statement. “We determined that Wade was the best fit to lead JoAnn, as he embraced the CEO role and earned the trust of the organization. Wade’s strategic vision, differentiated thinking, and open communication style are benefitting the culture and results at JoAnn and make him an excellent leader for the company.”

Matt Susz will take over as JoAnn’s CFO, the company said.
