Woman injured in knife attack
A man was held on attempted murder, aggravated battery and domestic battery charges, accused of cutting a woman who told him she wanted to end their relationship, the DeKalb County sheriff’s department said Sunday.
The woman called police Saturday to report that she had been stabbed by her boyfriend, the sheriff’s department said in a statement. Police said they found the victim outside her home suffering from a laceration to the neck and chest.
The woman told police that she told Daniel L. Snow, 45, that she wanted to end their relationship and that he had threatened to kill himself and her animals.
When the woman tried to call police, Snow took her phone and cut her on the neck with a kitchen knife, police said. They said she was cut a second time when she put up her hands to stop the attack.
The woman was hospitalized for her injuries.
Police were told Snow had left in a red pickup truck, which was spotted near Indiana 8 and Indiana 327. Police said they attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled. The vehicle became disabled on Indiana 3 in Noble County, police said, and Snow was placed in custody.
After treatment at a hospital, Snow was taken to DeKalb County Jail on the charges of attempted murder and battery.
