Small plane crashes in Florida after running out of fuel
PINE LOG, Fla. (AP) — A single-engine plane has crashed on a Florida road after running out of fuel.
Bay County Sheriff’s officials say the plane landed upside down Saturday near Pine Log and West Bay and is leaking fuel. The front tire appears to have sunk in the sand.
Authorities say the pilot was not injured and was able to speak with deputies when they arrived on scene.
The News Herald reports the Cessna had flown from Destin to Deland and was heading to Panama City Beach.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
