VETRIOLO TERME, Italy (AP) — Kanstantsin Sivtsov held off a late attack by Mauro Santambrogio to win the second stage of the Giro del Trentino on Wednesday.

The Team Sky cyclist finished the 140-mile stage in nearly 6 hours, beating Santambrogio by 4 seconds.

Vincenzo Nibali edged out Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins for third, finishing 19 seconds behind Sivtsov.

Both will be favorites for next month's Giro d'Italia.

Maxime Bouet took over the leader's jersey from Josef Cerny. Sivtsov was second with Pavel Kochetkov was third.
