Gas down 5 cents per gallon in Rhode Island
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — The average price of a gallon of gasoline in Rhode Island has dropped another nickel.
AAA Northeast reports Monday that self-serve, regular has fallen 5 cents in the past week to an average of $2.67 per gallon. Rhode Island’s price is a penny higher than the national average but 28 cents lower than the in-state price a year ago.
AAA found self-serve, regular selling for as low as $2.53 and as high as $2.89 per gallon in the state.
AAA spokeswoman Diana Imondi says lower prices could entice motorists to travel more this summer and even take some last minute road trips.
