Darlington County deputies investigate Wednesday night carjacking

DARLINGTON, S.C. -- Investigators are looking into a reported carjacking Wednesday night near Darlington.

Darlington County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the incident near E. Billy Farrow Highway and Jamestown Avenue about 10 p.m. when it was reported that a man was attempting to visit a girlfriend’s residence when he was carjacked by the woman’s ex-boyfriend, according to a release issued by the department.

The victim’s car was taken but later recovered abandoned near the incident location. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries, according to the release.
