1 dead, 1 injured in small plane crash in Kentucky
CYNTHIANA, Ky. (AP) — A small plane crash in Kentucky has killed one person and injured another, police said.
The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Airport, WKYT-TV reported. A woman aboard the plane died and a man was hospitalized with serious injuries, police said
The single-engine plane nose dived into the grass, scattering debris up to 40 yards (37 meters) from the scene, Cynthiana Police Chief Doug Robinson told the station.
“The plane just kind of crunched up. The wing was broken and there was significant damage to the plane,” Robinson said.
The National Transportation Safety Board said in a tweet that it was investigating the crash.
