Gordon Dorn, 85, originally of Beaver Dam

Gordon Lee Dorn, 85, originally of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully May 25, 2018, in Annapolis, Maryland.

Gordon was a 1950 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. His parents were Alvin R. Dorn Sr. and Sarah (Jones) Dorn.

His parents, four brothers (Alvin, Jr., Dudley, Leslie and David) and one sister (Sally) preceded him in death. His spouse, Phyllis K. Dorn, passed away in January 2018.

Gordon is survived by his six children, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Iva Dorn (Dudley Dorn) of Beaver Dam, and many nieces and nephews.

He met his wife, Phyllis, in Washington, D.C. in 1953 while serving in the U.S. Army and stationed at Fort Myer, Virginia. They were married for 63 years and resided in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1973. His U.S. Army tours of duty were in Germany, Korea, Vietnam, Turkey and various stateside posts. Both Gordon and Phyllis will be interned at Arlington National Cemetery in the near future.
