LIVERPOOL, England (AP) — Everton has signed goalkeeper Joel Robles and defender Antolin Alcaraz as manager Roberto Martinez strengthens the squad with players who worked for him at Wigan.

The 23-year-old Robles is leaving Atletico Madrid on a five-year contract, having spent the second half of last season on loan at Wigan.

The Spaniard played in Wigan's FA Cup final victory over Manchester City in May alongside Alcaraz.

Alcaraz, a 30-year-old Paraguay center back, has been a free agent since his Wigan contract expired at the end of last season. He has agreed a two-year deal at Everton.

Robles and Alcaraz follow striker Arouna Kone in being reunited with Martinez, who replaced David Moyes at Everton last month.
