DeKalb County rehab center receives $10K Community Foundation grant
SANDWICH – Open Door Rehabilitation Center received a $10,000 Community Needs Grant from the DeKalb County Community Foundation on Friday, according to a news release.
The grant will help with buying portable lift systems, slings, reacher bars and batteries for clients who use wheelchairs. The equipment ensures safe and secure repositioning for clients and reduces risk of injury for caregivers, the release says.
The Sandwich organization provides services to DeKalb County adults with developmental and intellectual disabilites. The goal is to promote independence, growth and “exceptional quality of life” for clients, according to the release.
