Iowa inmate dies of unknown causes while in custody
CORALVILLE, Iowa (AP) — An Iowa inmate has died in custody of unknown causes.
The Iowa Department of Corrections says inmate Paul Kissel was pronounced dead early Friday morning at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center. He was 52.
An autopsy has been ordered, but prison officials say his death is not considered suspicious.
Kissel had been serving a 25-year sentence for attempted murder out of Pottawattamie County. His incarceration began on Sept. 25, 2009.
