Texas upset by Maryland

September 3, 2017 GMT

Texas quarterback Shane Buechele had himself a big opener.

Unfortunately for the Long Horns, it wasn’t big enough.

No. 23 Texas fell to Maryland 51-41.

Buechele was 37-for-52 for 352 yards and two touchdowns and one interception on the day.

The Long Horns struggled to find the end zone all day, notching single scores in three of the four quarters while the Terrapins scored at least two touchdowns in each quarter except the third.

Maryland running back Ty Johnson had 12 carries for 132 yards and score.
