Messy mix could create slick roads parts of New England
The first snowfall of the season in much of northern New England will mean some snow in New Hampshire’s White Mountains, but little, if any, snow on the coast.
Meteorologist Derek Schroeter from the National Weather Service said the rain begins Thursday evening, with the greatest possibility of slick roads from 10 p.m. to midnight.
He said southern and coastal areas of Maine and New Hampshire will likely see only rain, and that inland areas shy of the mountains could see closer to an inch of snow. He said the White Mountains will likely see 3 to 6 inches of snow.
The storm will bring in some of the coldest air of the season on Friday and through the weekend with high temperatures in the 30s.
