NEW OXFORD, Pa. (AP) — Police in Pennsylvania say a recently fired employee at a poultry processing facility returned to the business, shot and killed his former boss and then himself.

Officers with the Eastern Adams Regional Police Department were dispatched to Plainville Farms distribution facility in New Oxford at around 5:45 a.m. on Wednesday.

The York Daily Record reports that 75-year-old Phillip Hughes, of Marshville, North Carolina, waited in the parking lot for 58-year-old John Frey, of York, to arrive at the facility. Hughes fired at Frey, and then killed himself.

Authorities say Hughes was an independent trucking contractor working for Plainville Farms and had been fired on Tuesday.

The facility has since been opened to employees.
