Brunswick soccer notches first win of the season
The Brunswick School soccer team earned its first win of the season Saturday, upending The Gunnery, 6-0, on the road.
Aiden Williams recorded a hat trick during a three-minute span in the second half to spark the Bruins (1-4-1). Nick Boardman opened the scoring for the Bruins, tallying in the third minute. Freddy Gazal and Steve Lopez each assisted on the goal.
Lopez’s unassisted goal gave the Bruins a 2-0 lead in the 23rd minute. Williams scored the first of his three goals in the 66th minute. One minute later, Williams struck again shortly after a corner kick. Another Williams goal followed a minute later, as he scored off a feed from Lopez.
George Varvel’s goal off a set-up by Williams sealed the scoring in the 70th minute.
