Creighton men’s basketball receives highest ranking in program history
The Creighton men’s basketball team has jumped from tenth to eighth in the latest AP Top 25 Poll. It is the highest ranking in school history. The 15-1 Bluejays beat St. John’s on the road 85-72 last Wednesday and Providence at home last Saturday 78-64. Creighton return to action on Wednesday night when they host Butler at 8:00. Baylor is the new number one followed by Kansas, Villanova, UCLA, and Gonzaga. In other Creighton men’s basketball news, center Justin Patton has been named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for the third time this season. This week’s recognition comes after he led the Bluejays to a 2-0 week on the road with team-high averages of 22.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game. The Omaha native made 20-27 shots from the field and his only three-point attempt.
