Fitness Activist, Jolene Cherry, to Curate Remote Exercise Plans for Shelter-In-Place Situation

Portland, Oregon May 28, 2020 Jolene Cherry, a dedicated personal trainer and yoga teacher, launched her new website in the latter half of 2019 without the foresight of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, in light of current events, economic disruption as well as social distancing guidelines, Ms. Cherry has committed to expanding her online resources and health platform.

Cherry launched her diverse blog only last month, yet upon reflection, she soon realized that much more was needed to meet her clients exercise needs as well as those of her online community.


Those accustomed to working out in a gym or attending yoga classes at their local studio may lack the resources and confidence to transition to an effective exercise program at home, stated Ms. Cherry. Thats where I hope to help.

The fitness industry has been hit, especially hard by the tumultuous virus. According to CNBC, the gym chain 24 Hour Fitness is contemplating bankruptcy.

We dont know how long the fallout will endure, but its clear that professionals within the fitness community need to be agile and pivot to alternative opportunities, said Cherry. In an ideal world, I would train and guide clients one-on-one in-person. However, since thats not an immediate possibility, Im exploring virtual options, including Zoom personal training, live-streamed yoga classes, and expanding my YouTube portfolio. Given time, and little help from the tech world, I believe anyone can maintain or start a healthy lifestyle despite the burdens of the time.
