State Auto Financial: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) _ State Auto Financial Corp. (STFC) on Thursday reported a loss of $24.5 million in its fourth quarter.

The Columbus, Ohio-based company said it had a loss of 57 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for investment costs, came to 67 cents per share.

The insurance holding company posted revenue of $264.4 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $332.3 million.

For the year, the company reported net income of $12.8 million, or 29 cents per share, swinging to a profit in the period. Revenue was reported as $1.33 billion.

State Auto Financial shares have risen nearly 1 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 20 percent in the last 12 months.
