September 23, 1995

OXFORD, Ohio (AP) _ Ty King returned a kickoff 82 yards for a touchdown 13 seconds after a game-tying Cincinnati field goal and Miami of Ohio beat the Bearcats 23-16 on Saturday.

It was the 100th football game between the schools. Miami (3-1) leads the series 54-39-7.

With 38 seconds to go and Cincinnati (1-3) trailing 16-13, quarterback Eric Vibberts tried to call a timeout. As he looked away toward an official, the ball was snapped past Vibberts, who scrambled to fall on it.

Eric Richards then came out and kicked a 45-yard field goal to tie the game with 32 seconds left.

That proved to be plenty of time for Miami, with King returning the kickoff for the deciding score.

Miami’s Deland McCullough had his 17th 100-yard rushing game, with 117 yards. He moved into second place on Miami’s career rushing list with 3,108 yards.

The game was tied 6-6 at halftime, with each team scoring two field goals.

Miami forged ahead 16-6 with Jay Hall catching an 8-yard pass from Sam Ricketts and Chad Seitz kicking a 32-yard field goal.

Cincinnati caught up in the fourth quarter on a 20-yard pass from Vibberts to Anthony Ladd and the field goal by Richards.
