Lakes Region wastewater system recognized for compliance
CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A wastewater treatment and collection system serving 10 Lakes Region communities in New Hampshire has been recognized for its compliance, safety and public outreach.
The Winnipesaukee River Basin Program was honored as the Wastewater Plant of the Year by the New Hampshire Water Pollution Control Association.
The system was built over 40 years ago and is managed by the state Department of Environmental Services.
The system was ranked first based on its accomplishments for 2017. Other nominees included the Nashua, Plymouth, and Rochester wastewater systems.
