City council: No wrongdoing in Rocky Mount city manager’s spending
The Rocky Mount City Council announced they “found no malfeasance on the part of the city manager” during a meeting on Monday night.
For months, residents banded together calling for City Manager Rochelle Small-Toney to resign or be dismissed from her role. Among other reasons, there was concern about a recent remodeling at Small-Toney’s office and what appears to be a violation of rules that have city employees live in city limits.
Residents also voiced concerns about some news reports questioning her spending and hiring during her time managing the City of Savannah.
On Monday, city council members said they did find some dissatisfaction among middle and upper level employees her department.
Small-Toney also admitted there were some problems, but that she is working on them.
The full report has not yet been released to the public.
