Plains Rotary Golf Tournament Planned On Aug. 24
The Plains Rotary Club will hold its 33rd annual Memorial Golf Tournament at the Mountain Laurel Golf course on Friday, Aug. 24. All proceeds from the tournament will be used to purchase new winter coats for needy children, Christmas gifts for special needs children and a Christmas dinner for the children and their families, distribute dictionaries to third grade students in the Bear Creek Charter school and Plains Solomon Elementary school. In addition, the Plains Rotary sponsors a student at the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards program each year and recognizes an eighth grade student from Plains Solomon Junior High school for their community service. These community projects are made possible through the support of golf tournament sponsors and golfers.
