The suspect in a robbery that occurred earlier this month at an ATM in Aiken has been identified and arrested.

Investigators with Aiken Department of Public Safety identified 18-year-old Chyvas Lekie Joyner, of Allendale, as the suspect, according to a news release.

On Jan. 2, officers responded to 3549 Richland Ave., where a man claimed he had been robbed at gunpoint while parked near a Bank of America ATM.

After reviewing the ATM’s security camera footage, Aiken Public Safety posted a photo of the robbery suspect on social media and asked for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

Joyner is currently being held at the Allendale County Detention Center on unrelated charges. According to the press release, upon “completion of the charges in Allendale County,” Joyner will be transported to the Aiken County detention center and will be charged with armed robbery.
