UMass Lowell Skates Past BU, 5-3

BOSTON -- Freshman defenseman Seth Barton snapped a third-period tie with his first collegiate goal, sparking UMass Lowell to a 5-3 Hockey East victory over host Boston University on Friday night.

Barton scored with 12:15 left to break a 3-3 tie. Sophomore forward Charlie Levesque tallied his first goal of the winter into an empty net to seal the win.

UML (8-6-1, 4-3-1 HE) led 2-0 after one period on goals by Chris Schutz and Connor Sodergren.

Sophomore defenseman Anthony Baxter tallied his first career goal in the second period for the River Hawks.
