No. 1 Cougars return home still unbeaten
The top-ranked BYU women’s volleyball team handled its business by winning three West Coast Conference matches on the road the past two weeks to stay undefeated.
This week, the Cougars return home to host league matches against Loyola Marymount and Pepperdine. BYU is 15-1 all-time against LMU and 25-8 in the series against Pepperdine.
The Cougars have been virtually unbeatable at home. Since 2011, BYU is 90-3 (97 percent) in the Smith Fieldhouse and 56-1 (98 percent) in conference matches during that stretch. The Cougars swept Pepperdine in Malibu on Sept. 25.
BYU has been ranked for 82 consecutive weeks, dating back to Oct. 7, 2013. The Cougars are also No. 2 in the RPI behind second-ranked Stanford. BYU beat the Cardinal 3-2 in the Fieldhouse on Aug. 31.
The Cougars are currently the No. 1 offensive team in the country, hitting .328 and are No. 2 in opponents hitting percentage (.140).
