Firefighters Extinguish Small Haystack, Grass Fire Near Longmont’s LifeBridge Church
A haystack and .5 acre of grass were accidentally set on fire at about 1 p.m. Sunday near Longmont’s LifeBridge Christian Church, according to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office. Farm workers were loading hay into the back of a truck when the exhaust caught the hay on fire, according to the sheriff’s office. Windy conditions spread the grass fire, which burned in the 10300 block of Ute Highway. No structures were threatened and no one was injured, but the truck was significantly damaged, according to the sheriff’s office. Along with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, the Mountain View and Longmont fire departments responded.
