Under the Streetlamp: Classic tunes at the Wolf Den

May 8, 2019

The group called Under the Streetlamp was founded in 2009 by leading cast members from Tony-winning “Jersey Boys,” so we like them already. And yes, they sing Four Seasons tunes as well as classic hits from the American radio songbook.

We’re talking inspirational hits by The Everly Brothers, The Beatles, Roy Orbison, The Beach Boys, Bobby Darin and others. The group reimagines the best music of the 1950s-70s for today’s audiences, we’re told.

With a seven-piece band, Under the Streetlamp will play the Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun Casino Friday, May 17. Limited seating is available for this free performance and seats will be confirmed on a first-come, first-serve basis (there’s typically a line).

The roster of singers changes, but current company members of group include Eric Gutman, David Larsen, Brandon Wardell and Shonn Wiley. Between them, they have appeared on Broadway, in feature films and on TV.
