Care.com: 2Q Earnings Snapshot
WALTHAM, Mass. (AP) _ Care.com Inc. (CRCM) on Monday reported a second-quarter loss of $169,000, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
The Waltham, Massachusetts-based company said it had a loss of 3 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense and non-recurring costs, came to 14 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 11 cents per share.
The operator of an online service to help people find and manage family care posted revenue of $46 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $45.9 million.
For the current quarter ending in October, Care.com expects its per-share earnings to be 12 cents.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $49 million to $49.3 million for the fiscal third quarter.
Care.com expects full-year earnings in the range of 65 cents to 67 cents per share, with revenue ranging from $191.5 million to $193 million.
Care.com shares have climbed 15 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 40 percent in the last 12 months.
