Friday’s Football Roundup: Hubler leads Foran past Guilford
MILFORD — Jared Hubler rushed for 288 yards and three touchdowns and passed for 188 yards and two more scores to lead Foran over Guilford 37-12 in a SCC football game Friday evening.
Hubler had 26 carries in the game, including scoring runs of 7, 49 and 63 yards, and completed 16 of 23 passes, including touchdowns to Mark Wooten (61 yards) and Max Tavitian (9).
The Lions (3-4) racked up 548 yards of offense in the game.
The Indians (3-4) scored in the first and fourth quarters on a 7-yard run by Jack Strand and on a 20-yard pass from Strand to Tyler Filey.

REDDING — Carrying nine times on a 10-play drive early in the fourth quarter, Trevor Furrer’s 3-yard touchdown run was the eventual winner in a tight win over Brookfield Friday night.
Excluding three kneel downs and the end of the game, the senior carried 22 times for 141 yards, 69 of which came on the decisive drive that put Barlow up 24-14 with 10:42 left. Cal Peterson ran for two scores for the Falcons, who snapped a two-game skid.
Brookfield quarterback Liam Carroll accounted for all three Bobcats scores (two passing, one rushing). Carroll threw two touchdowns to wide receiver Zachary Ballard and ran for a 15-yard score.

WEST HAVEN — Kaileb Cadet rushed for 207 yards and two touchdowns in the Green Knights’ loss to the Rams.
Cadet scored the first and last touchdowns of the game on runs of 47 and 7 yards, respectively. Christopher Elias threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Zackary Hochman and Jared Gallbronner kicked a 25-yard field goal for Notre Dame.
Jake Mcalinden scored three rushing touchdowns in the win to lead the offense for Cheshire (5-2).

BETHEL — The Wildcats outscored the Rebels 19-7 in the second half to pull away with the victory.
Morgan Haskett scored two rushing touchdowns in the third quarter to put Bethel ahead 20-14 going into the fourth.
Zack Perry and Vincent Giannone also scored touchdowns in the win for the Wildcats (2-5), while Zachary Buffington, Will Enright and Zachary Thuesen each scored once in the loss for New Fairfield (1-6).

Stordy and Dylan Batlle added rushing scores for the Wolverines.
Anthony Ligi caught two touchdown passes and also had seven carries for 83 yards for Wolcott (4-3).

SOUTHBURY — Matty Hersch passed for 336 yards and five touchdowns to lead undefeated Masuk (7-0) over Pomperaug (2-5).
Hersch completed 17 of 17 passes, including two touchdowns to Ryan Shaw (50, 50 yards) and one apiece to Mickey Zuk (3), PJ Fox (80) and Nick Lorusso (5) for Masuk, which scored 27 points in the second quarter.
Jack Roberge added 200 yards of offense, Zuk and Shane McPadden each scored one rushing touchdown and Robert Martinsky had a 40-yard interception return for a touchdown to lead Masuk’s offense.
