2 Phoenix police officers among 5 people injured in shooting
PHOENIX (AP) — Police say two officers are among five people injured after a shooting in south Phoenix.
They say the shooting occurred around 9 p.m. Saturday.
The names of the injured officers and the other three people weren’t immediately available Sunday.
Police say officers responded to the call of “shots being fired inside a home and the people inside were not allowed to leave.
The standoff between the suspect and officers lasted for several hours before the suspect was shot.
Police say four people were shot including one police officer, two women and the suspect.
The officer was transported to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.
Police say the two women both are hospitalized in critical condition.
The second police officer was injured after being bitten by a dog.
