Steelers players plunder Le’Veon Bell’s old locker for gear
The Pittsburgh Steelers are finally sure that Le’Veon Bell will not be part of the team this season, or likely ever again, because Bell failed to sign his franchise tag by this week’s deadline.
So on Wednesday, several Steelers players took it upon themselves to see if Bell had anything good in his locker.
Players took pairs of shoes and other “stuff” Bell left lying around in the locker, Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.
Bell’s name was removed from the locker, as well.
Pittsburgh has bounced back from a sluggish 1-2-1 start with five straight wins. The team would be the No. 2 seed in the AFC if the playoffs started today.
“It’s kind of nice that it’s over,” guard David DeCastro said. “We can just move on, keep getting James (Conner) some more yards and keep winning games. It’s been fun, we’ve been on a fun roll, and the season goes by a lot faster when you’re winning games.”
