Champion wrestler Eslinger to impact FCA Home Team Banquet

February 22, 2017 GMT

The seventh annual Fellowship of Christian Athletes annual Home Team Banquet will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017 at Georgia Northwestern Technical College, located at 1151 Hwy 53 Spur, SW in Calhoun. The keynote speaker for the event will be the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga Mocs wrestling head coach Heath Eslinger, the once championship wrestler now leading a championship program.

During his eight years as the head coach of the UTC Mocs, Eslinger has compiled an impressive record, guiding his team to six regular season Southern Conference titles and five Southern Conference Tournament Championships while being named Coach of Year twice.

“Not only his coaching and motivation expertise, but his passion for Christ and developing Christian leaders is what caught our attention,” said a representative with FCA Calhoun-Gordon County. “His message will resonate with our supporters and impact the ministry.”

The mission for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Calhoun and Gordon County is to “Present to coaches and athletes, and all whom they influence, the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church.”

More than 280 local students are meeting weekly with the focus to help equip, train and disciple these future leaders of our community.

The annual Home Team Banquet is the top fundraiser for FCA Calhoun-Gordon County and is a prime catalyst each year for the health and growth of the ministry.
