North-central Missouri teen killed in accidental shooting
FAYETTE, Mo. (AP) — A 15-year-old boy has died in what investigators are calling an accidental shooting in his home in Fayette over the weekend, police in the north-central Missouri town said.
Kevin Cash Valencia was shot on Saturday by a gun in the possession of a family member, station KMZU reported. Authorities said no arrests or charges have been filed in the case. Police have released no other details about the shooting, saying it remains under investigation.
KMZU reported that Valencia was a freshman at Fayette High School and the youngest of four in his family. A vigil to remember Valencia has been set for Friday evening in downtown Fayette.
