Rudy Giuliani meets head of Poland’s ruling party in Warsaw
WARSAW, Poland (AP) — The head of Poland’s governing party says he met with Rudy Giuliani, the former New York City mayor who is now a close adviser to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.
Jaroslaw Kaczynski said Thursday on state TV 1 that the talks held in Warsaw focused on politics, relations with Russia and energy, a sector where Poland is seeking to end its dependence on imports of Russian oil and gas.
Kaczynski says he was reassured by Giuliani that Poland’s interests will be secured.
Deputy Senate Speaker Adam Bielan said on Twitter that it was two hours of “good talks on Polish-US relations.”
Poland’s conservative government has hailed Trump’s election as a chance for even better relations with Washington.
Guliani was in Warsaw for anniversary celebrations at the Greenberg Traurig law firm.
