Coast Guard crew rescues man in boat near Dry Tortugas

KEY WEST, Fla. (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard medevaced a 70-year-old man experiencing chest pains from his boat off the Florida coast on Monday, the agency said in a news release.

The man was aboard his 42-foot boat the Indigo Falcon near near Dry Tortugas National Park, officials said.

The man notified the Coast Guard in Key West, asking for help. He said he’d been suffering from chest pains for the past two days, the news release said.

The agency diverted the Coast Guard Cutter Charles David Jr. crew who brought the man to awaiting emergency medical services at Coast Guard Station Key West.

He was then taken to Lower Keys Medical Center.

His condition wasn’t immediately known.
