CHICAGO _ Chicago authorities say a pregnant woman who had gone to a Chicago home in response to a Facebook offer of free baby clothes was strangled and her baby cut from her womb. The baby is hospitalized in grave condition, and three people have been taken into custody, with charges expected. WASHINGTON _ President Donald Trump has granted a full pardon to a presidential biographer and former newspaper publisher who has written a flattering book about him. Conrad Black once ruled a media empire that included the Chicago Sun-Times and The Daily Telegraph in London. He served more than three years in prison after being convicted in 2007 of defrauding investors. His book “Donald J. Trump: A President Like No Other” came out last year. By Kevin Freking. —GPS DATA-RULING: A federal judge has ruled that suburban Chicago police violated constitutional protections against unreasonable searches by accessing weeks of GPS data indicating a suspect’s car had been outside a jewelry store when it was robbed.

—FATAL ACCIDENT-WEST VIRGINIA: A judge has overturned the conviction of an Illinois truck driver in a crash that killed a North Carolina family in southern West Virginia.

—STATEVILLE PRISONERS-LAWSUIT: Several inmates have sued the Illinois Department of Corrections over the suspension of a Stateville Correctional Center debate class.

—AGRICHEMICAL CONTAINERS-RECYCLING: Illinois agriculture officials are encouraging farmers and agrichemical facilities to save empty chemical containers for recycling late this summer.



CHICAGO _ Toronto’s Marcus Stroman makes his second straight start against the White Sox when the Blue Jays begin a four-game series in Chicago on Thursday.
