Toughest in the Tri-State battle for title at contest
HUNTINGTON — Hit ‘em with the left, hit ’em with the right — the 31st annual Tri-State Original Toughman contest returned to the Big Sandy Superstore Arena in Huntington on Saturday for the second night of the competition.
More than 160 amateur boxers duked it out for more than $12,000 in prize money, bragging rights and title-bearing jackets.
The fighters were divided into four men’s and four women’s divisions. Champions in the men’s divisions received $1,000 cash and a jacket and runners-up got $300. Prize money for the women’s division varied based on the number of entries. The women’s winner also received a jacket. The winning ring girl was awarded a $1,000 cash prize.
