Police make arrest in slaying of Lincolndale Avenue woman
A 61-year-old man was arrested Thursday night in the stabbing death of a 75-year-old woman in her Lincolndale Avenue home, city police said today.
Juan Molina has been charged with murder and felony murder in the Tuesday slaying of Sally Duncan, police said in a statement. They said he is awaiting arraignment on the charges.
The Allen County coroner’s office had previously identified the victim as Sally Ann Duncan-Sanders.
Police said Emergency Services Team and detectives executed searches at two homes late Thursday night in connection with the homicide. Detectives said numerous tips from community aided the investigation.
The victim died from multiple stab wounds, the coroner’s office said in a statement following an autopsy.
Fort Wayne police and medics were called about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday to a home at 3020 Lincolndale Ave. -- near Interstate 69, Goshen Road and Coliseum Boulevard -- because of a medical event, investigators said, and found the woman’s body covered in blood. Her death was the seventh homicide in Allen County this year.
