WVC BOYS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Hawkeyes Upset Royals

At Hanover Area, Asad Whitehead scored 19 points and pulled down 14 rebounds as Hanover Area knocked off Holy Redeemer 38-36 on Tuesday.

Evan Materna added nine points for the Hawks, with Justin Kopko and Khairi Carson each scoring four.

Nick Prociak led Holy Redeemer with 14 points. Justice Shoats scored nine.

At Coughlin, Brandon Hall scored seven of his game-high 19 points in overtime as Coughlin snapped a three-game losing streak.

Tony Egidio finished with 16 points for Coughlin, with six coming in the fourth quarter. Aaron Bennett added 14, with nine coming in the fourth quarter.

Jeremy Callahan scored 12 points, while Nicholas Ganter had 11 and Todd Phillips 10.

Matt Marchetti led MMI Prep with a game-high 29 points. Tyler Degenhart added seven.
