Aiken Senior Life Services board of directors holds annual meeting
On Tuesday, May 15, the Aiken Senior Life Services board of directors held its annual meeting in the board room of Security Federal on the corner of Richland Avenue and Laurens Street.
Marshall Cain, chairperson, presided over the meeting. S.C. Sen. Tom Young Jr., R-Aiken, was the guest speaker. Young provided an update on the various sponsored bills in the House and Senate pertinent to issues affecting seniors.
Also in attendance and contributing brief remarks were ASLS Board Member and Aiken Mayor Rick Osbon and interim City Manager Stuart Bedenbaugh.
Board members eligible for a second three-year term, officers of the board, and new board members were installed at the meeting.
Re-installation of current board members for a second three-year term included, Sharon Hagan, Doug Haley, Pat Mosburg, Becky Robbins and Virginia Smith. ASLS Officers installed were Marshall Cain, chairperson; Don Pennington, M.D., vice-chairperson; Paul Newsom, treasurer; and Sharon Hagan, secretary.
Two new board members were added to the board of directors: Andrea Gregory and Tommy Wessinger. Gregory was present and installed at the annual meeting, and Wessinger, who was absent, will be installed at the ASLS meeting in June.
