W-B Releases Scheduleof Special Events For 2018
WILKES-BARRE — Mayor Tony George has announced details for the city’s 2018 St. Patrick’s Day Parade, along with a list of other special events planned this year. The 38th annual parade will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at the intersection of South and South Main streets. Participants will line up for the parade at 1 p.m. in their designated areas. Registration is now open for parade sponsors and participants. Registration forms are available at www.wilkes-barre.city/special-events. Sponsor registrations are due by Feb. 26, and participant registrations are due by March 5. Sponsors can choose from the following sponsorship levels: • Band sponsor, at a cost of $3,000, is entitled to a banner with the organization’s name and logo to lead off a band. The band will be referred to as “(name of band), presented by (business name)” in parade marketing and during the parade. • Corporate sponsor, at a cost of $1,000, is entitled to a banner with the organization’s name and logo displayed on Public Square for one week prior to and one week after the event. • Division sponsor, at a cost of $500, is entitled to a banner with the organization’s name and logo carried at the beginning a parade division. Band and corporate sponsors will receive reserved spots for two representatives on the reviewing stand as VIPs, and division sponsors will receive a reserved space for two representatives from the organization to carry banners.
