Police: Scranton Man Sexually Abused Teen Boy
A Scranton man faces charges after police said he engaged in oral sex with a juvenile for three years.
Adam James Falvo, 22, 935 S. Sixth Ave., is charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a victim less than 16 and corruption of minors.
Falvo was 17 and the victim was about 12 when the sexual activity began in 2014, according to the criminal complaint.
The Times-Tribune does not identify victims of sexual assault.
The victim said the first incident started when he asked the older boy if he could take his dog home because he liked it; Falvo said he would give him the dog if the victim performed oral sex, Detective Jeffery Gilroy wrote in the complaint. The two engaged in oral sex several times after that until about 2017, when the victim was 15 or 16.
Investigators interviewed Falvo last week. He said the younger boy “threw himself at him” and that the activity was always consensual, Gilroy wrote. However, he “admitted to us that it wasn’t right” because the victim was 13, according to the complaint.
Falvo told authorities he and the victim performed oral sex on each other about a dozen times, with the relationship ending when he was 19 or 20 years old.
Falvo’s bail and preliminary hearing information were not available Friday.
