CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland Browns defensive lineman Danny Shelton visited the dog pound today, but it wasn’t the one he usually plays in. Shelton was “Doggie Santa” to rescue dogs at the Cuyahoga Dog Shelter in Valley View today to bring treats and toys to the rescue dogs in the shelter.

Shelton, who is the owner of four rescue dogs of his own, teamed up with Petplan pet insurance, Pet People, U.S. Humane Society and Honest Kitchen to help bring the gifts to the dogs. This is the second year that Shelton, who will have his four pups in his wedding next year, volunteered to hand out the goodies.

Petplan pitched in nearly $1,000 in goodies, Pet People donated a pallet of dog food, and Shelton also donated to the cause with his time and donations.
