DEBORAH OTTO, 63, of Charleston, W.Va., passed away peacefully June 13, 2018, at Emo-gene Dolin Jones Hospice House after a brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Virginia, and her brother, David. Deborah graduated from Huntington High School and received degrees from the University of Cincinnati and Marshall University. She had a rewarding career in industrial hygiene, which took her to Texas, Ohio and finally back to West Virginia. She is survived by her two children, Brendan and Audrey; two sisters, Marilyn and Karen; many nieces and nephews; and her cats. She will be remembered for her sharp wit and insatiable quest for knowledge, her kindness toward her friends and family, her humorous repartee, biting commentary, love of solitude, reading and knitting. Deborah illuminated the darkness with reason and facts. Our world will be saddened and a less interesting place without her, and we will miss her wise counsel. The family will have a private celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to North Gateway Animal Hospital, 1510 Greenbrier Street, Charleston, WV 25311.
