Beaver Dam High School spring play opens Thursday
Beaver Dam High School’s spring play “Nevermore! Edgar Allan Poe — The Final Mystery” opens Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Additional performances will be on Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
The play imagines what may have happened during the poet’s strange final days after he failed to make his way back to New York. Poe died in Baltimore 1849 after being found delirious, wandering the streets. His cause of death remains a mystery to this day.
The play will incorporate much of Poe’s own work and various special effects. The 27 student actors play around 60 characters in total. BDHS senior Wriley Hoffner is playing the lead role of Poe.
The show is directed by Jennifer Tunks and Roberta Marck.Tickets are available at Rechek’s Food Pride or Piggly Wiggly and at the door.Tickets are $5 in general and $4 for senior citizens, students and children.
