NY man charged with identity theft in Milford

MILFORD — A Brooklyn, N.Y. man tried to use a fraudulent credit card in purchasing several items at a Connecticut Post Mall beauty saloon and supply store.

Police arrested Gabriel Morris, 23, of Brooklyn, N.Y. just before 5 p.m. March 2 on charges of third-degree identity theft, illegal use of a credit card, credit card theft and interfering with a police officer. He is being detained on $10,000 bond pending an appearance in Milford Superior Court.

Police said Morris tried to use a credit card in another person’s name in attempting to purchase numerous items from Ulta Beauty Supply and Salon. During questioning by police, he claimed his name was Carlos DeJesus Almanzar.
