Multiple media outlets are currently reporting that the new package was addressed to CNN, specifically meant for former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.
“I’m really not surprised,” Mr. Clapper told CNN, “This is definitely domestic terrorism. There’s no doubt about that in my mind.”
The former top security official said he was relieved the package was not sent to his home, where his neighbors are collecting mail while he and his wife are out of town.
“This is not going to silence the administration’s critics,” Mr. Clapper said.
The announcement comes after several suspicious packages to Democrats and CNN in New York. A total of 10 were sent across the East Coast and in Los Angeles.
The situation is developing and unclear if it is connected to the other packages discovered this week.
