Aiken man charged with exposing himself near public roadway
An 81-year-old man has been arrested after witnesses claimed he exposed himself in a sexual manner near a public roadway in their neighborhood.
George Croswell, of Aiken, faces five charges of indecent exposure following the incident, which occurred Thursday afternoon.
According to reports from the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, multiple witnesses in an Aiken County neighborhood spotted Croswell standing by a fence near a public roadway close to their residences. Witnesses told police Croswell was wearing only a pair of socks and exposing himself in a sexual manner.
Multiple complainants told police their juvenile children also witnessed the incident, according to the incident report.
Croswell fled the scene despite the complainants’ attempts to stop him from leaving before police could arrive. However, the complainants were able to provide deputies with enough information to positively identify Croswell.
Croswell was booked to the Aiken County Detention Center on Thursday.
