Fire Dominate MetroStars 3-0
CHICAGO (AP) _ Dipsy Selolwane, Damani Ralph and Ante Razov each scored to lead the Chicago Fire to a 3-0 victory over the MetroStars on Saturday night.
Selolwane opened the scoring in the 15th minute, after Chris Armas redirected Andy Williams’ pass ahead to Selolwane, who beat Jonny Walker with a low shot to the left corner from eight yards out.
Ralph gave the Fire a two-goal lead in 56th minute. Second-half substitute Tenywa Bonseu stopped Damarcus Beasley’s cross attempt, but the ball deflected to Ralph for the shot from 10 yards. Bonseu entered the game after MetroStars defenseman Jeff Parke injured his left hamstring in the first half.
After a cross pass from Beasley, Razov beat Walker high with left-footed goal to put the Fire up 3-0 in the 77th minute.
Fire goalkeeper Henry Ring leads the Major League Soccer with four shutouts in five matches.
