‘Beverly Hills 90210’ Star Shannen Doherty Cited in Nightclub Fracas
WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (AP) _ ″Beverly Hills 90210″ TV star Shannen Doherty was cited for alleged misdemeanor battery early today following a fracas at a nightclub.
Miss Doherty, 21, of Beverly Hills got into a shoving match with aspiring actress Bonita Money, 32. The altercation began at about 1:30 a.m. after Miss Doherty’s date, ″Beverly Hills 90210″ co-star Brian Austin Green, allegedly stepped on the toes of Miss Money’s boyfriend, authorities said.
Deputies were summoned to the Sunset Boulevard’s trendy Roxbury nightclub to quell a fight.
″The girls started shoving each other around. Both women were adamant about having each other arrested,″ said Deputy Roger Hom of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The women, who weren’t injured, were both issued misdemeanor battery citations and released. They must appear in Beverly Hills Municipal Court on Dec. 22 for arraignment.
Green, 21, of suburban Studio City, and Miss Money’s escort, George Jackson, 34, of Hollywood didn’t get involved in the quarrel and weren’t cited, Hom said.
The Fox network television show, about love and life among pampered high school pupils in Beverly Hills, has been a runaway hit among teen-agers. Miss Doherty plays Brenda Walsh, twin sister of Jason Priestley’s character Brandon Walsh and sometime girlfriend of heartthrob Luke Perry’s character. Green plays David Silver, another student at the school.
